We were not created to be alone.  In Genesis, God said, “It is not good that man should be alone."  This has way more meaning than marriage.  Genesis 2:18 is a divine observation about the design of the human spirit. It is not good that we are disconnected. We need to be connected vertically with the Lord, but being connected vertically with the Lord is not enough. This verse was before Adam sinned. It is not the fruit of Adam's sin; he needs people and God made it that way.
