Building a resting place for God

About the prayer Room

The Prayer Room is modeled after King David’s Tabernacle (1 Chron. 23:5, 25:7), where singers and musicians sang 24/7 to God’s manifest presence. David saw God’s throne room and observed the combination of worship and prayer displayed (Rev. 5:8).

God is worshiped night and day in heaven because He is beautiful and worthy of the attention and affection of His people. God is worthy of night and day intercession in heaven because He desires to move in power in partnership with His people. We want to join heaven in worship and intercession.

Together, we are building God a resting place in the Spirit (Eph. 2:22; 1 Pet. 2:5).

What to Expect in the Prayer Room

During our open hours, you are welcome to sit in the prayer room and pray individually or with others, read your Bible, pace and pray, or use your computer for study. Live or recorded worship will always be playing to provide a worshipful atmosphere.

You can pray and sing silently or out loud.

During our live sets, a worship team will be on stage facilitating intercession or meditation. You can engage with the corporate focus or focus on your topics.

During intercession sets, everyone is welcome to pray out loud on the microphone.

During live sets, we begin with 30-40 minutes of worship, then shift into meditation or intercession for the remainder of the time. The worship team will continue to play during the prayer portion of the set.

What To Do in The Prayer Room

Personal Prayer

  • Read your Bible and journal

  • Pray through your prayer list

  • Pace in the back or sides of the room and pray

  • Bring your laptop to study

  • Meditate on the Bible

Corporate Prayer

Engage in the corporate focus of the worship by singing the worship songs.

You could agree with those praying on the microphone for intercession sets and sing the prayers the worship team creates spontaneously. If comfortable, you could also pray on the microphone. You could also pray in a small group if the prayer leader invites people into groups.

You can meditate on the same Bible verse as the team from your chair for meditation sets. The team will sing about the Bible verse and then create spontaneous choruses that you can sing to.
